On the Set

Rueby Tuesday by Carlos and Jean Aleman

After many weeks of filming, Reuben takes a break and watches while his stunt double shoots one of the action sequences. Reuben has always prided himself on the fact that he did his own stunts, but his agent suggested that because of the number of dangerous stunts in "The Wrath of Reuben," it was more advisable to use a stunt double.

In this scene, Reuben's character is escaping from a gang of criminals who had trapped him on the roof of an abandoned building. In a daring move, Reuben decides to drive off the roof rather than risking capture. One of the gang fires a shoulder-launched missile at the car, causing the room the criminals were in to explode in a ball of flame. Unfortunately, the timing of the missile shots took a great deal of practice to perfect, thus requiring several takes to film the scene. C. D. Alemani complained about the expense of crashing three Mercedes convertibles, but then again, filming the scene to his complete satisfaction was more important.

At this time, Reuben's stunt double is complaining about the amount of stunt work he has to do, but he is under contract until the conclusion of a three-film series.

The stunt-double should be glad he's got work...I know a few in LA who'd kill for the chance to work with Reuben!

Stunt Double

Rueby Tuesday by Carlos and Jean Aleman

The success of "Bowl Full of Yucky Pieces" has led C. D. Alemani and Reuben to collaborate on a second film. After much discussion, the two settle on an action/adventure film entitled "The Wrath of Reuben."

Reuben and Alemani decide that because of the numerous action scenes in the movie, they will need to find a stunt double for Reuben. They audition many doggies, but finally settle on a dog with the charisma and personality they desire. Unfortunately, the dog does not resemble Reuben as much as they would like. In desperation, they go to the costume designer, who fashions a wig for the stunt double. Reuben himself inspected the finished product, and is very satisfied with the results....

The Dog Whisperer

Rueby Tuesday by Carlos and Jean Aleman

When not being a superdog, Reuben likes to relax by watching his favorite program, "The Dog Whisperer" on the National Geographic Channel. The show features his idol, the Dog Whisperer himself. Reuben had heard of this mysterious figure since he was a pup, but now, as an old man, he is able to see the great Cesar Milan for himself. Reuben had believed for many years that this Dog Whisperer was but a legend, but now Reuben realizes that he is real.

Since the show has been on the air, Reuben has gained much wisdom for the great Dog Whisperer. He now can see that when he is scolded for misbehaving, it is not actually his fault, but that of the owner. As Cesar would say, "to all you dog owners out there, the problem is you."

Each time the show airs, Reuben finds that he is inexplicably drawn to the screen. He is mesmerized by the Dog Whisperer's voice, and finds that it is almost impossible to tear himself away from the screen. Reuben tries to summon all of his superdog powers, but finds that he is unable to resist the call of the Dog Whisperer.

Superdog Revealed

Rueby Tuesday by Carlos and Jean Aleman

Reuben's prolific career has led to much speculation about the reason for his achievements. Many theories have been presented, but it is not until a member of the paparazzi took this photo that the truth behind Reuben's abilities is revealed.

For over a decade, it was believed that Reuben was a humble Shih Tzu, living quietly in Florida. But, over recent months, those who know him best have seen glimpses of a different side of Reuben. Growing suspicions about his origins led reporters to his childhood home and the people Reuben adopted. The story that emerged was extraordinary.

It was discovered that the people he referred to as mommy and daddy were not his parents at all. In reality, this ordinary couple found him in Minnesota through a "breeder." This "breeder" claimed to have bred Reuben from a pair of Shih Tzus in her possession, but Reuben's people parents never actually saw these doggie "parents."

Once his mommy and daddy brought Reuben home, they discovered that he learned tricks at an extraordinary pace. At first, they simply thought he was a particularly smart dog, but over the years, they began to think that there were other reasons.

Reuben's parents saw the importance of shielding his identity from the public, so they made every effort to keep his abilities a secret. It is only now, when his fame makes it virtually impossible to remain anonymous, that Reuben's true origins are made public.
