Doggie

Rueby Tuesday:
Today's pic features Reuben, the universal doggie in all his splendor

I identify with the Reubs. I feel much like a doggie -not because my self esteem is low, but because I went to Jesus and said, "I want to belong to you".

Jesus smiled at me and said, "Hmmm, I don't know about this. Let's see, you're not a Jew like me, you're just a grumpy, dirty little Canaanite doggie... perfect! I wanted someone just like you that I can take home, clean up and love forever and ever."

He has held me in His arms ever since.

---------------------------------------------------------
"The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said.
He replied, 'It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs.' 'Yes, Lord,' she said, 'but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.' Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith!"
Matthew 15:25-28

So many of us treat our dogs like family. We love them, take care of them, give them gifts, even though our pets do not really give us anything in return. That is much like our relationship with Christ. He loved us, provided for us, even gave His life for us, though He knew that we could not give Him anything in return. I think God put dogs on Earth to show us humans what our relationship with Him should be.
